Apple has released the iOS 27.2 update for iPhone and iPad, introducing expanded language support for Siri AI and over 160 security fixes. Siri AI now supports beta versions in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, while gaining the ability to recall past conversation context.
The updated assistant can now access data from Messages, Calendar, voicemail, and Safari, with users retaining control over data privacy. For the iPhone Duo foldable, the update adds Apple Pencil support and the Edge Light feature for improved video call lighting.
FaceTime now includes a Dual Capture mode for simultaneous front and rear camera streaming, along with support for third-party sign language interpreters. The Messages app has gained intelligent content recognition for creating reminders and calendar events directly from text.
Sports viewing on iPhone now supports the Multiview feature, allowing US users to watch up to four simultaneous streams, including MLS, F1, and MLB content. The Podcasts app has also received interface optimizations to better highlight followed shows and current playback.
Beyond the main update, Apple has backported security patches to iOS 26, which is still used by approximately 80% of iPhone users. Additionally, a specific security patch was issued for iOS 18 to address a vulnerability that may have been exploited in targeted attacks.
