Apple has reported extraordinary demand for its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. Pre-orders opened on October 16 at 5:00 AM Pacific Time. Within thirty minutes, estimated delivery dates on the official website shifted significantly, reaching January 25, 2027.

As of the latest update, customers can no longer secure a 2026 delivery, with new orders pushed to early 2027. Apple has not disclosed specific sales figures, initial inventory levels, or configuration breakdowns to substantiate the demand claims.

The extended wait times may also stem from production challenges. Supply chain reports suggest difficulties with assembly yields, as well as the manufacturing of foldable screens and hinges. Apple has not confirmed these production issues.

The iPhone Duo is available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage capacities. Pricing in the United States starts at $1,999 and goes up to $3,199 for the top-tier model.

While Apple is working to accelerate supply, the availability of in-store stock for the official launch on October 23 remains uncertain. The company suggests checking for local store pickup options starting October 24.
