Apple has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, marking the debut of John Ternus as CEO. The device features a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal screen with a thickness of 5.2 mm when unfolded. The internal display utilizes a ten-layer structure with optical adhesive to minimize creases and reduce reflections.

The iPhone Duo incorporates a 12-megapixel under-display camera and a side-mounted Touch ID sensor. Apple has redesigned the iOS interface for the new form factor, relocating menus and the dock to the right side to ensure consistent control placement across screen transitions. The device supports eSIM technology.

Pricing for the iPhone Duo starts at ¥15,999, with the top-tier model reaching ¥26,499. Simultaneously, the iPhone 18 Pro series saw a price increase of $100, starting at ¥9,999 and ¥10,999 respectively. Apple also introduced a relay feature allowing users to switch a single phone number between two devices.

The iPhone 18 Pro series features upgraded hardware, including a vapor chamber three times larger than the previous generation, offering a 40% performance boost. The devices support 60W charging, reaching 50% in 15 minutes, and include a physical variable aperture on the main camera. Battery life for video playback is rated at up to 45 hours.

Powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chip, the new lineup focuses on on-device AI integration. Apple describes its strategy as a personal intelligence hub, utilizing the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods to process digital and physiological data. Currently, Siri AI features are limited to English, with full support for the Chinese market pending.
