Apple has released version 1.12.0 of its Invites application, introducing significant updates to photo sharing, background generation, and user verification. The app is designed for managing social events like birthday parties and baby showers.

The updated shared album feature now supports full-resolution photo uploads. Recipients can view high-definition images and contribute their own photos via a link, regardless of whether they use Apple devices or other platforms.

The Image Playground tool has been expanded to include photorealistic background generation. Users can now select various styles to create custom backgrounds for their invitations, allowing for better alignment with specific event themes.

The email verification process has been streamlined to remove the need for manual code entry. Guests can now confirm their participation by simply clicking a link sent to their inbox, which simplifies the RSVP process.

While the app requires event organizers to have an active iCloud+ subscription, starting at $0.99 per month for 50GB, guests can join and respond to invitations for free on any device. The update also includes general performance improvements.
