ApeX Protocol has updated its tokenomics data, confirming a fixed total supply of 500 million APEX tokens. This figure follows a series of quarterly burns that reduced the original maximum supply from 1 billion tokens, a process that concluded in late 2024. The updated data is reflected in the Ethereum token contract at address 0x52a8845df664d76c69d2eea607cd793565af42b8.
Currently, approximately 146 million APEX tokens are in circulation, meaning about 71% of the fixed supply is locked or inactive. Allocations for the team and early investors, which together make up roughly 23% of the total supply, have fully vested. The protocol confirmed there are no remaining unlock events or cliff events scheduled.
The platform operates a monthly buyback-and-lock program funded by trading fees. In August 2026, the protocol used this mechanism to repurchase 200K APEX tokens from the open market. These tokens are locked rather than redistributed to users.
ApeX Protocol is a non-custodial decentralized exchange specializing in perpetual derivatives, spot trading, prediction markets, and tokenized assets. The project has received backing from investors such as Tiger Global and Dragonfly.
Regarding security, the protocol reported a social engineering incident on September 8, 2026, affecting a wallet in the Trade-to-Earn program. ApeX stated that smart contracts, token supply mechanics, and user funds remained secure.
