Antseed has launched a peer-to-peer marketplace designed to provide developers with access to AI inference models. By bypassing centralized gateways, the platform allows users to route requests through independent providers, which the company claims can reduce costs by up to 97% compared to official API pricing.
The Antseed Foundation, the entity behind the project, secured $2.4 million in a token funding round. The investment was led by Spark Capital, with participation from Collider, DCG, North Island Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Venice.ai, and Relay Capital.
The marketplace utilizes a self-hosted local router where providers list their available capacity and set their own prices. Antseed verifies these providers, using a reputation-based system to prioritize those who consistently meet performance and service standards.
According to co-founder Amos Meiri, the platform functions similarly to BitTorrent by removing central control over access and pricing. Developers can configure routing based on specific requirements, including latency, privacy, and capability.
The platform has already processed nearly 150 billion tokens across 202 active providers. This launch addresses the rising costs of AI infrastructure, a sector where global spending is projected to reach $42 billion by the end of the year, according to Gartner Inc.
