Anthropic is integrating its specialized tools into a single Claude platform. The update is currently rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers, with plans to expand access to Team and Free users shortly. Enterprise customers will receive at least 30 days of notice before the transition occurs.
The company introduced new beta features for paid subscribers, including Claude Docs for document creation and Claude Slides for presentation drafting. Additionally, the Claude Design tool is now accessible directly within ongoing conversations. Existing standalone Claude Design users will retain their current functionality.
The consolidation aims to address user feedback regarding the difficulty of choosing between Cowork and Design tools. Anthropic stated that projects previously siloed in separate applications can now leverage context, skills, and connectors across any conversation, as the platform automatically determines the necessary task requirements.
This shift follows industry trends toward unified AI agent platforms. OpenAI previously announced plans to transform ChatGPT into a comprehensive super app, incorporating coding tools and third-party services. In July, OpenAI also introduced ChatGPT Work, an agent capable of managing complex tasks across various applications and files.
