Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI model, is preparing for an IPO on the Nasdaq exchange scheduled for mid-October 2026. The company has filed a draft S-1 registration statement with the SEC on June 1, 2026. The offering is managed by Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Citi, with a target valuation of approximately $2 trillion.
In the second quarter of 2026, the company reported revenue of $11.5 billion, representing a 14-fold increase year-over-year. The annualized revenue run-rate is expected to surpass $65 billion by July 2026, with forecasts reaching $190 billion to $200 billion by 2028. Additionally, the firm expects positive adjusted operating income for the second consecutive quarter.
The company's latest private funding round in May 2026 raised $65 billion, bringing its post-money valuation to $965 billion. Amazon remains the largest investor with a stake of $8 billion. Nvidia is currently in talks to invest up to $10 billion as an anchor investor in the IPO, which could potentially raise as much as $100 billion.
Founded in 2021 by Dario Amodei and former OpenAI researchers, Anthropic competes with OpenAI and Google DeepMind in the large language model sector. A successful listing on the Nasdaq is expected to qualify the company for inclusion in the Nasdaq 100 Index, which would prompt automatic purchasing by numerous index funds and ETFs.
