Anthropic, the San Francisco-based developer of the Claude AI model, is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering. According to reports, the company is targeting a market valuation of $2 trillion. This potential listing could raise over $100 billion, representing a substantial increase from the company's previous valuation of approximately $965 billion, which was established during a funding round in May.
The company was co-founded by Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, and five other individuals. To maintain strategic direction, the founders plan to consolidate control through a structure known as Founder LLC. This arrangement is designed to ensure that the founders retain 50.1% of the total voting power following the public offering.
The final valuation of the company remains subject to various external factors, including broader performance trends within the artificial intelligence sector and future revenue disclosures. Market participants are currently monitoring upcoming regulatory filings with the SEC, as well as guidance from underwriters, which will likely influence the final share price and market capitalization.
