Anthropic reported an operating loss of $567 million for the third quarter of 2026, marking a shift from the $974 million operating profit recorded in the previous quarter. This swing exceeds $1.5 billion over three months, as the company prepares for its IPO on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, with pricing scheduled for mid-November.

Revenue for the third quarter reached approximately $17 billion, a 47% increase from the $11.555 billion reported in the second quarter. Compared to the same period last year, revenue grew by 1,127% from $1.382 billion. Despite this growth, the company faced significant expenses, including a $5 billion surge in compute costs and a $2 billion non-cash charge related to employee donation-matching.

The company disclosed a third-quarter net loss of $23.3 billion, with the nine-month net loss reaching approximately $104 billion. The majority of this figure, over $94 billion, is attributed to non-cash fair-value charges on convertible notes. These accounting adjustments reflect the rising valuation of the company and the associated conversion rights of its debt instruments.

Anthropic has committed to total compute and infrastructure purchase and lease obligations of $895.4 billion. Of this total, $69.8 billion is due within 12 months of September 30, 2026. This near-term obligation is more than double the company's total revenue for the first nine months of the year. The firm submitted its amended Form S-1 to the SEC on November 2.
