Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, an AI agent tailored for professionals and small business owners. The tool is currently available as a research preview via a standalone mobile application for iOS and Android, as well as through the Claude web interface.
The agent operates on the Claude Opus 5.5 model and features a virtual machine with a browser to execute tasks. Its capabilities include summarizing daily updates from connected applications, managing meeting schedules, creating financial forecasts, and building web applications.
To ensure security, the system incorporates a dedicated classifier and safety prompts designed to block requests involving sensitive data, such as credit card numbers. The agent also requires user approval before performing significant actions like processing payments.
Anthropic notes that the current version is in an early stage of development and may occasionally misinterpret urgent tasks or struggle with personal errands like booking tickets. Access is currently limited to Pro and Max subscribers in the United States via a waitlist.
