Anthropic has launched the Claude Frontier Academy, an educational initiative designed to train 10,000 engineers in deploying AI models within corporate environments. The company has committed $100 million to this project, with a goal to certify specialists as Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027.

The training program follows a medical residency model. Participants engage in multi-day in-person sessions with Anthropic instructors, focusing on real-world deployment scenarios, safety protocols, and operational handoffs. After passing a practical exam, candidates earn the Claude Resident Engineer status.

The final stage involves a 12-week residency where engineers lead actual Claude implementation projects within their own organizations. The first graduates with the Frontier Deployed Engineer designation are expected in early 2027. Training cohorts are currently operating in San Francisco, New York, and London.

Access to the academy is restricted to nominations submitted by organizations through their respective Anthropic account managers. Current participants include professionals from major firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Novo Nordisk.

The academy builds upon the existing Claude Partner Network, which has already facilitated over 175,000 certifications across 46,000 firms. Additionally, Anthropic is expanding its partnership with Barclays and has established a new life sciences research lab.
