Anthropic has identified its ongoing relationship with the United States government as a potential business risk within its IPO prospectus. The San Francisco-based AI laboratory currently anticipates a market valuation exceeding $2 trillion for its upcoming public offering.
This new valuation target represents a significant increase from the $965 billion estimate reported by the company in May. Despite the high valuation, the prospectus clarifies that existing government contracts currently generate less than 1% of the total corporate revenue.
The company cited specific regulatory hurdles as contributing factors to this risk assessment. These include a federal-use suspension implemented in February and recent export restrictions. These regulatory developments remain a key focus for market observers monitoring the IPO.
