Anthropic has signed a long-term lease with EverWind Fuels for space at a new data center campus in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia. This agreement marks the company's first data center deal in Canada and spans at least 20 years. The facility will support the operation of Claude models for both Canadian and international users.

The lease covers the first phase of the campus, which is planned to provide 95 MW of capacity by late 2027. The entire project aims to reach a total capacity of 420 MW by 2028. Anthropic's initial commitment represents less than a quarter of the total planned buildout for the site.

The broader EverWind development is valued at over CAD 10 billion, representing the largest private investment in the history of Nova Scotia. Of this total, CAD 8 billion is allocated to the data center, while CAD 2 billion is designated for supporting onshore wind energy projects.

The project is expected to generate approximately 2,000 construction jobs and 215 permanent positions once operational. At full capacity, the campus is projected to contribute about CAD 137 million annually to the GDP of Nova Scotia.
