The AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor, unveiled at CES 2026, is now available for $484. This price point is lower than the original launch cost of the CPU. The package currently includes a complimentary 240mm AIO liquid cooling system and a copy of the game Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

Based on the Zen 5 architecture, the chip features 8 cores, 16 threads, and a 5.6 GHz boost clock. It retains a 120W TDP and 104MB of total cache, with 96MB dedicated to 3D V-Cache. The processor is compatible with the AM5 platform and supports DDR5 memory on existing 800- and 600-series motherboards.

Testing indicates the Ryzen 7 9850X3D performs 3.3% faster than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D in gaming benchmarks. While it may trail behind Intel in certain productivity tasks, the single-CCD design limits peak power consumption to approximately 170W, simplifying thermal management for users.
