According to hardware leaker Kepler_L2, AMD may limit its 2027 GPU releases to a single mid-range model codenamed AT2. The leaker claims that both AMD and Nvidia will delay other new product launches until 2028, marking a shift in the typical release cycle for next-generation hardware.
The AT2 GPU is reportedly linked to the upcoming Xbox Project Helix console, which is scheduled for a 2027 release. If this information is accurate, the AT2 will serve as the only new graphics processor from AMD next year, focusing on the mid-range segment rather than flagship performance.
The market landscape for 2027 remains speculative as official statements from AMD are currently absent. While rumors previously suggested the development of a high-end AT0 GPU with 96 compute units to compete with Nvidia's RTX 6080, current reports indicate a pivot toward prioritizing the console-based mid-range chip.
Conflicting reports exist regarding Nvidia's roadmap for 2027. While some sources suggest the potential arrival of an RTX 6090, Kepler_L2 disputes these claims. Furthermore, plans for potential Super versions of existing Nvidia GPUs have reportedly been canceled due to ongoing memory supply constraints.
