The upcoming RDNA 5 architecture from AMD may feature a neural rendering technology similar to NVIDIA DLSS 5. This information comes from a leak posted by Kepler_L2 on the Anandtech forums, who suggests the feature will be branded as Neural Lighting.

The leaker notes that the technology will likely be exclusive to RDNA 5 hardware due to the high computational demands of the workload. AMD has not yet officially confirmed the RDNA 5 architecture, and current market estimates suggest a release window between mid-2027 and early 2028.

Kepler_L2 also proposed a potential technical approach for AMD, suggesting that the model could access raw game data such as geometry and depth buffers. He further speculated on splitting lighting and shading into separate models, though he clarified these ideas are his personal expectations rather than confirmed specifications.
