AMD has introduced the Threadripper Halo Station, a high-performance workstation designed for AI tasks. The system is built around the 96-core Threadripper Pro 9995WX processor, which features 192 threads, a boost clock of 5.4 GHz, and 384 MB of L3 cache.
The workstation includes two liquid-cooled MI350P accelerators, each equipped with 144GB of HBM3E memory, totaling 288GB. The architecture allows for a potential upgrade to four accelerators, which would increase the total HBM3E capacity to 576GB.
The system supports up to 2TB of DDR5 memory across eight channels. Power requirements are significant, as each MI350P accelerator is rated for up to 600W, while the processor maintains a TDP of 350W.
AMD has not yet announced a release date or official pricing for the station. Estimates for core components suggest a base cost exceeding $100 000, with fully configured systems potentially surpassing $150 000.
The machine is designed as a tower-based server tray. AMD expects that its OEM partners will eventually manufacture and ship the systems, though specific partnerships have not been disclosed at this time.
