AMD has released the HIP-RT 3.2.0 ray tracing library, which introduces support for three new GPU targets: GFX1170, GFX1171, and GFX115E. These identifiers are associated with the upcoming Medusa APU series.
According to open-source graphics software documentation, the GFX1170 and GFX1171 identifiers are linked to the RDNA 4m architecture. Meanwhile, the GFX115E identifier is associated with the RDNA 3.5 architecture.
The 3.2.0 update includes performance optimizations, functional improvements, and bug fixes. Key changes feature support for SRT transformation frame clipping, improved compatibility with CUDA 13, and code modernization.
Developers have adjusted the triangle normal decoding process and expanded transformation functions to reduce computational overhead. The release also addresses issues related to memory access, scene compression, and multi-GPU environments.
