Amazon has introduced an AI-powered lip-syncing feature for Prime Video, which synchronizes actor's lip movements with translated speech. The technology is currently implemented in the German series Maxton Hall, specifically for its English dubbing.
The system combines artificial intelligence and visual effects to ensure that mouth movements match the dubbed words. While currently limited to one project, Amazon plans to integrate this technology into other content on the platform.
Prime Video has previously experimented with AI dubbing. Last year, the company used AI to prepare English and Spanish versions of 12 films and series, including El Cid: La Leyenda, Mi Mamá Lora, and Long Lost.
The feature is now available to Prime Video subscribers worldwide for the first and second seasons of Maxton Hall. It will also be used in the third season, which is scheduled to premiere on December 9.
