Amazon is reportedly considering the acquisition of AI startup Decart for $7 billion. According to reports, the deal remains subject to ongoing negotiations and the absence of competing offers. Decart, founded in 2023, specializes in software that facilitates developer transitions between various AI chips.

The startup is also developing Lucy and Oasis, which are world models capable of simulating 3D environments. Amazon previously provided Decart with early access to its custom Trainium3 chip, designed to compete with Nvidia hardware. If finalized, the transaction would exceed Amazon's $6.5 billion acquisition of MGM.

Earlier this year, Amazon announced an agreement to invest approximately $11 billion in Globalstar. Reports indicate that Decart had previously engaged in advanced acquisition talks with other parties, including a potential $6 billion deal with Anthropic that did not proceed.

Separately, Amazon is expanding its Seller Assistant tool for third-party merchants. The updated system is designed to function as an operating layer that monitors inventory, pricing, and advertising. It is capable of reasoning across business metrics and performing automated tasks.
