Amazon is currently in negotiations to acquire the AI startup Decart. According to reports, the potential deal is valued at approximately $7 billion. While discussions are ongoing, no formal agreement has been finalized yet.
Decart specializes in software that optimizes AI model performance across various hardware platforms, including NVIDIA GPUs, Google TPUs, and Amazon Trainium chips. Its primary product is the Decart Optimization Stack.
The startup also develops its own AI models, such as the real-time video model Lucy and the interactive world model Oasis. Founded on September 7, 2023, the company currently employs over 60 people and has raised more than $450 million in funding.
Previously, Anthropic considered acquiring Decart for $6 billion earlier in 2026 but withdrew from the process in September 2026 following due diligence. Amazon, which is a major investor in Anthropic, is now pursuing the acquisition.
