Reports circulating on X claiming that Amazon intends to sell $8 billion worth of Nvidia chips to investors remain unverified. Official records indicate that Amazon Web Services is actively expanding its hardware infrastructure rather than liquidating assets.

On March 19, 2026, Nvidia confirmed that AWS would receive 1 million GPUs by the end of 2027. Subsequently, on August 26, 2026, AWS committed to purchasing an additional 2 million units for deployment throughout 2027 and 2028.

Beyond GPUs, the supply agreements between the companies encompass networking equipment, Vera CPUs, and robotics. Financial details regarding these transactions have not been publicly disclosed by either party.

Amazon continues to develop its own silicon, including Trainium chips for AI model training and Graviton processors for general computing. This custom chip division has currently reached an annualized revenue run rate of $25 billion.
