Amazon has launched the Built Together initiative, pledging over $1 billion in community investments. The program includes energy-efficiency upgrades for 30,000 homes and more than 300 schools and community buildings, aiming for a 20% to 40% reduction in energy bills. Households are expected to save approximately $700 annually through these improvements.

The company plans to provide free community-college education to over 300,000 students within five years. Amazon currently operates three Modular Training Centers, with six under development and 16 more planned. Each center trains between 2,000 and 4,000 people annually, with a goal of reaching 100,000 trained workers per year by the end of 2028.

Regarding operational metrics, Amazon reported a global power usage efficiency of 1.14 for 2025. The company claims its facilities are seven times more water-efficient than the industry average, consuming less than 13,000 gallons of water daily compared to the 170,000 gallons used by a typical data center. Amazon also aims to be water-positive by 2030, having reached 75% of this goal.

Amazon has committed to using backup generators that meet EPA Tier 4 emissions standards at new sites. Additionally, the company is involved in over 65 contracted water projects designed to return more than 8 billion gallons of water annually to the environment, which is stated to be more than twice the amount consumed by its data centers in 2025.
