The Republic of Altai has completed the transition of all its schools to the Astra Linux operating system. Following the migration, the region is preparing to conduct the State Final Examination (GIA) using this software.

Technical testing of computers running the Linux-based system in examination centers is scheduled for October 27–29, 2026. A nationwide trial of the Unified State Exam using the new software will take place on December 16.

Astra Linux is now deployed in schools across 22 Russian regions. The Republic of Altai was the first to complete this transition, while in the Amur Region, all 293 schools, as well as several colleges and six universities, have adopted the system.

By mid-2027, Astra Group plans to support the transition to its OS for state exam environments in eight additional regions. The company provides schools with free, perpetual access to its OS images, automation scripts, and a repository containing over 200 software products.
