AllUnity has introduced USDAU, a new stablecoin pegged to the US dollar at a 1:1 ratio. The asset is backed by segregated reserves and is designed to operate within the regulatory framework of the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
The token is launching across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc, and Polygon. This addition expands the company’s existing portfolio of fiat-backed tokens, which currently includes EURAU, CHFAU, and SEKAU.
Data from CoinGecko indicates that EURAU holds a market capitalization of approximately $400,000, while CHFAU is valued at about $45 million. These assets are part of a broader market where dollar-pegged tokens represent over 99% of the total $291 billion capitalization.
The expansion occurs amid ongoing discussions among European policymakers regarding the dominance of dollar-pegged stablecoins. In June, the European Central Bank expressed concerns that increased reliance on such assets could potentially weaken the role of the euro.
