Recent media reports suggested that Chen Hang, the founder of DingTalk, had returned to Alibaba. According to these claims, he was allegedly assigned to the Qwen office business unit while retaining his previous rank and compensation package.
Alibaba Group officially denied these reports in response to inquiries from 36Kr. The company stated that the information regarding Chen Hang's return to the Qwen division is inaccurate.
The discussion surrounding DingTalk's management intensified in June following the circulation of a lengthy resignation letter by a former employee. Shortly thereafter, DingTalk vice president and AI product lead Ma Ruila announced his departure, citing concerns over the company's intense work culture.
Alibaba's partner committee subsequently criticized DingTalk's internal management practices on the company's intranet, labeling them inconsistent with Alibaba's corporate culture. Following these events, Chen Hang stepped down as CEO of DingTalk, with Chen Yusen appointed as his successor.
