Akash Network, a decentralized cloud computing platform, has officially secured approval for a migration from the Cosmos blockchain to Solana. The governance proposal received 98% support from the community, signaling a major shift in the project's underlying infrastructure strategy.
As part of this transition, the AKT token will be converted into a Solana SPL token. The project confirmed that the token will retain its existing ticker symbol and decimal structure. Despite this authorization, the core marketplace will continue to operate on Cosmos for the time being.
The platform plans to conduct additional audits and hold a subsequent vote before finalizing the migration of the marketplace. This strategic move aims to leverage Solana's infrastructure, which has recently seen increased activity in decentralized exchange volumes and active user counts.
