Akamai Technologies has finalized a cloud services agreement with AI laboratory Anthropic. The deal is valued at $11,6 billion and has the potential to grow to $20 billion. This contract establishes Akamai as a primary compute provider for the AI company, significantly exceeding a previous agreement worth $1,8 billion.

As part of the strategic partnership, Akamai has issued a warrant to Anthropic. This instrument allows the AI firm to acquire up to 5% of Akamai’s equity. The collaboration marks a shift in Anthropic’s infrastructure strategy, as the company seeks to diversify its cloud operations beyond its existing relationship with Google Cloud.

Following the announcement of the deal, Akamai’s stock price experienced a notable increase. Market analysts are now monitoring how this partnership will impact Anthropic’s valuation, with further updates on the company's funding and strategic alliances expected by the end of the year.
