The Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC) has secured $40 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Ribbit Capital with participation from First Harmonic, bringing the startup's total funding to approximately $55 million.
Founded in 2024 by Rune Kvist, Brandon Wang, and Rajiv Dattani, the San Francisco-based company previously raised a $15 million seed round in July 2025 led by Nat Friedman. The startup focuses on the market for insuring autonomous AI systems.
The core product of the firm is the AIUC-1 framework, which evaluates AI safety, reliability, and compliance. The system was developed in collaboration with the law firm Orrick and includes feedback from over 250 CISOs at Fortune 1000 companies.
The platform links insurance coverage directly to audit results. Enterprises can obtain coverage limits of up to $50 million per policy. This approach aims to address the growing demand for liability management as companies deploy autonomous AI agents.
