The first prototype of the Airbus A350F cargo aircraft, identified by serial number MSN 700, successfully completed its maiden flight. The aircraft remained airborne for over four hours, concluding with a flyby over the Toulouse-Blagnac airport before landing.

This flight marks the official commencement of the A350F flight test program. Although the debut was originally scheduled for September 24, the company postponed the event by five days. Airbus has constructed two prototypes to conduct the necessary certification tests.

The manufacturer plans to conduct the first flight of the second prototype before the end of 2026. Both aircraft will undergo a comprehensive testing series to secure certification for the new freighter variant, which is based on the A350 passenger family.

The A350F is designed to carry a maximum payload of 111 tons. With a cargo weight of 109 tons, the aircraft is capable of covering a range of approximately 8700 km. Airbus aims to challenge the Boeing 777-8 Freighter in the long-haul cargo market.
