Spott, a Belgium-based AI recruitment platform, has secured $21 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was primarily led by Balderton Capital, which contributed 80 to 90 percent of the total capital. Additional participation came from Base10 Partners, Y Combinator, and Fortino Capital.
Founded in 2024 by former consultants Lander Degreve, Manu Vanderveeren, and Samuel Smeys, the company provides an AI-native applicant tracking and CRM system. Unlike competitors that integrate AI into legacy software, Spott built its product from scratch using a vector database to automate administrative tasks for recruitment agencies.
The startup reports that its revenue has grown more than ten times since early 2026, with over 80 percent of sales generated through inbound channels. Currently, the company employs 44 people, including approximately 18 engineers and a small sales team of three to four individuals.
Spott plans to utilize the new funding to support international expansion and develop enterprise-grade features. The broader market for applicant tracking systems, valued at $3.3 billion in 2024, is projected to reach $4.5 billion by 2030, driven by the rapid adoption of AI-powered hiring tools.
