The Kazakhstan-based service GdeKotBot, launched in 2025, utilizes artificial intelligence to locate missing cats. The platform allows users to report sightings by uploading photos and geolocation data, which the system then compares against a database of lost pets. Since its inception, the service has successfully reunited 407 cats with their owners and attracted over 28,000 users.

To address the challenge of finding cats hiding in inaccessible locations, the company initiated the True CATectives project. Domestic cats equipped with GPS trackers and microcameras record their surroundings during daily walks. The AI analyzes this footage to identify potential matches with missing pets, notifying owners if a match is detected in a specific area.

According to Ogency creative director Alexey Leybovich, less than half of lost cats return home, compared to 85% of dogs. The service aims to leverage community involvement to improve these statistics. The initiative has influenced a global trend in applying AI technologies for pet recovery, with similar services now emerging in various countries.
