The Advanced AI Society has joined the Linux Foundation and its LF Decentralized Trust division to establish an open verification ecosystem. This initiative aims to address the growing need for verifiable controls for autonomous AI agents, which currently operate at speeds that exceed manual human oversight.

The alliance has released the v1.0 working draft of the Proof-of-Control standard. This framework, developed with input from over 80 global security leaders, is designed to provide continuous, machine-verifiable evidence of an agent's actions and authority throughout its lifecycle, moving away from reliance on vendor self-attestation.

The Proof-of-Control draft is open for public comment until October 30, 2026. By hosting this standard within the Linux Foundation, the organization intends to ensure that machine trust is based on transparent, neutral mechanisms rather than proprietary systems.

A public launch event titled 'Who’s Watching the Machines?' is scheduled for September 23, 2026. The event will feature industry experts, policymakers, and developers to discuss the implementation of open verification standards for the agentic era.
