The startup 50skills, headquartered in Reykjavík, has secured €5.3 million in a new funding round. The investment was co-led by Frumtak Ventures, Swiss Post Ventures, Avant, and the American family office DRD Investments. The company intends to use the capital to scale its operations and expand its reach to more organizations.
Founded in 2017, 50skills provides an HR workflow automation platform that integrates AI agents with deterministic workflows. The system is designed to replace manual processes, such as email and spreadsheets, by connecting existing corporate software into a single operational hub. The platform allows HR teams to define processes in plain language, which are then executed by the system.
The company currently offers two primary products: Hire, an applicant tracking system, and Journeys, an AI-driven platform for managing employee-related processes. The platform ensures human oversight, governance, and security while automating tasks that require interpretation or repetitive execution.
Over the past 12 months, the platform has processed more than 4 million actions for HR teams across the UK and the Nordic region. Its client base includes major organizations such as Icelandair, Eimskip, Blue Lagoon, Domino’s, and Securitas, as well as public-sector entities like the City of Reykjavík and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
