1C-Rarus has launched an updated version of its self-service terminal, aiKassa, designed for cafes and canteens. The company achieved a more than twofold reduction in the terminal's cost by optimizing its hardware design and component selection.
The system utilizes computer vision to identify food items on a tray and automatically generate an order for customer confirmation and payment. The AI model can be retrained using current receipt data or through a dedicated training mode, which allows businesses to adapt to frequently changing menus or food presentation styles.
According to Alexey Pavlov, head of catering automation at 1C-Rarus, the primary goal of this update is to make computer vision technology more accessible to the HoReCa sector. The company expects that the lower price point will enable more establishments to implement the system to reduce queues during peak hours and improve overall service efficiency.
