Zotye Auto has commenced batch trial production of its Wink Y01 international edition, a small electric vehicle designed for overseas markets. The model is built on the company's S platform and measures 3,912 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width, and 1,545 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,520 mm.
The production restart includes testing the paint line at the company's facility in Yongkang, Zhejiang province. Despite these steps, Zotye has not yet announced pricing, driving range, powertrain specifications, or a timeline for mass production and vehicle deliveries.
The company faces financial challenges, reporting a 32.08% year-on-year revenue decline to ¥190 million in the first half of the year. While net income reached ¥80.39 million, this figure includes nonrecurring items; excluding these, the company recorded a loss of ¥152 million.
Zotye's stock experienced volatility, hitting a 10% daily limit for two consecutive sessions on September 8 and 9, before declining 1.98% on Thursday. The company noted that future mass production and market entry depend on securing additional funding and completing regulatory certifications.
