ZF Aftermarket is launching over 100 new repair kit variants for electric axle drives in the coming weeks. These kits are part of the company's Maintain-Repair-Replace strategy, focusing on individual component repairs for electric and hybrid drivetrains. If repairs are not feasible, the company provides remanufactured replacement parts that meet original equipment quality standards.

The new offerings include kits for second-generation hybrid modules based on the 8HP transmission, featuring rotors and stators. For the fourth generation of the 8HP, the company is adding remanufactured mechatronics and inverter repair kits. Additionally, a specific kit for replacing bearing components in reduction gears of electric drive units will be available.

ZF currently claims its spare parts portfolio covers approximately 92 percent of the European fleet for the 20 most common electric vehicle models. The company also supplies parts for chassis, steering, brakes, and damping systems, alongside specialized operating fluids for electric drivetrains.

The supplier plans to expand its support for Chinese vehicle brands in Europe. By the first quarter of 2027, the parts catalogue will include up to 200 references for these vehicles. ZF aims to cover ten popular Chinese models by the end of 2027, targeting 30 percent of the workshop demand for these cars.

This expansion coincides with a restructuring of the ZF electric drivetrain division. Following a strategic review, the company decided to keep the development and production of electric motors and inverters in-house, provided that cost structures improve. The division is currently operating below capacity and undergoing workforce reductions.
