ZetaChain is shutting down its independent Layer 1 blockchain following the approval of Proposal 68 on September 20. The decision received 99.4% support from voters, with a 58% participation rate. The project will migrate its native ZETA tokens to the Solana network as SPL tokens.

The conversion of ZETA tokens will occur on a one-to-one basis. During the migration, the token's decimal precision will change from 18 to 9 to align with Solana standards. The total supply will remain unchanged, and no new tokens will be minted. Existing vesting schedules for holders will stay in effect.

The migration process specifically targets native Layer 1 tokens, excluding those held on Ethereum or BNB Chain. While the exact shutdown date remains undetermined, validators will continue operating nodes until the transition is complete. A second governance proposal will define the technical details.

The shift follows the launch of Anuma, an AI application developed by the ZetaChain team in February 2026, which has reached over 300,000 users. Anuma will also migrate to Solana. ZetaChain, which previously raised $27 million, launched its mainnet in January 2024.
