Zest has entered into a multi-year partnership with Heart of England Co-op to install high-powered EV charging infrastructure at nine supermarket locations across the Midlands region. The company will handle both the funding and the ongoing operation of these charging sites.
The rollout will cover both new and existing retail stores, with specific locations identified in Coventry, Nuneaton, Wellesbourne, and Southam. While official hardware specifications for this project remain undisclosed, Zest has previously deployed chargers with capacities ranging from 150 kW to 300 kW at other retail sites.
This agreement follows Zest’s broader strategy of collaborating with UK grocery networks. The company maintains a similar multi-year partnership with Central Co-op, which included a project announced in October 2025 to install charging facilities at 20 additional store locations.
Heart of England Co-op stated that the infrastructure project aligns with its ongoing environmental initiatives. The organization has invested millions in green projects over recent years to improve public access to reliable charging and support local sustainability efforts.
