Zerova has unveiled its new MCS dispenser for electric trucks and buses at the IAA Transportation event in Hanover. The system is designed to provide charging capacities of up to 1,440 kW and 1,500 A, specifically targeting the megawatt charging standard for heavy-duty vehicles.
The hardware utilizes the company's existing DO360 and DZ480 power cabinets, which feature separated power electronics and charging points. The output voltage for these units ranges from 150 to 950 V DC for the DO360 model and 200 to 950 V DC for the DZ480 model.
The dispenser includes liquid-cooled cables in five or seven-meter lengths, supporting both MCS and CCS connectors. Users can operate the system via a 10.4-inch touchscreen, with authentication options including RFID, QR codes, and Plug & Charge, alongside optional credit card payment support.
The system supports OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 protocols for backend connectivity. According to the manufacturer, the hardware complies with CE requirements and IEC 61851-1 and IEC 61851-23 standards, ensuring suitability for deployment across the European Union and the European Economic Area.
Zerova intends the solution for use in fleet depots and charging parks along long-haul freight routes. The company is currently demonstrating the technology at Stand C20 in Hall 13 at the IAA Transportation exhibition in Hanover.
