The fintech startup Zeal has secured $10 million in new funding. The company plans to use the capital to expand its loyalty technology platform, which is designed to integrate with payment terminals.
Zeal's product allows merchants to manage loyalty programs, such as points and stamp cards, directly through existing payment hardware. The system also supports optional phone number capture and connects to external customer data platforms.
The company aims to deploy its software to more than 4 million card machines over the next two years. This rollout addresses the current fragmentation in the payments ecosystem, where terminal manufacturers and acquiring platforms often have disparate integration requirements.
The funding reflects a broader industry shift where payment terminals are evolving into software platforms. By bridging the gap between transaction data and merchant loyalty engines, Zeal seeks to turn physical checkout processes into actionable customer insights.
