Pretty Good Policy for Zcash (PGPZ), a non-profit organization established in the summer of 2026, has officially registered its first lobbyist in Washington. The group appointed its executive director, Divij Pandya, to represent the interests of the Zcash ecosystem on Capitol Hill.

Pandya, who previously worked at FS Vector, will focus on policy analysis, coalition-building, and lobbying efforts. His work will specifically address privacy-centric legislation, including the CLARITY Act, and advocate for protections for open-source software developers.

The organization is currently seeking a grant of $750 000 from Zcash Community Grants to fund its first year of operations. This request serves as a test of whether the community supports direct political representation for the project.

While PGPZ takes over advocacy duties, the Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL) will continue its operations. ZODL remains focused on core protocol development, infrastructure, and wallet software, maintaining its independence from the new lobbying group.
