The YMTC PC550 is a PCIe 5.0 SSD designed for compact systems, featuring a 1TB version with rated sequential read speeds of 10,500MB/s and write speeds of 9,500MB/s. Random read and write performance is rated at 1,300K IOPS, with power consumption below 6W during operation and under 3mW at idle.

In testing, the drive exceeded official ratings in CrystalDiskMark, reaching 11,712.69MB/s for sequential reads and 9,501.92MB/s for sequential writes. Random performance peaked at 1,403K IOPS for reads and 1,789K IOPS for writes. During a 1TB sustained write test using Iometer, the drive maintained an average speed of 2,002.69MB/s.

The SSD achieved a score of 5,213 in the PCMark 10 Full System Drive Benchmark and 4,963 in the 3DMark Storage Benchmark. In AI-related testing, the drive loaded the Qwen2.5 7B model in an average of 2.07 seconds. When loading the game Delta Force, the PC550 completed the process in 15.38 seconds, outperforming a PCIe 4.0 reference drive by 1.34 seconds.

Thermal management is a key feature of the PC550. During a 30-minute stress test conducted at a room temperature of 27°C, the drive remained below 50°C. Main temperature sensors averaged 45°C with a peak of 48°C, while a third sensor averaged 42°C with a peak of 45°C.
