Yaroslavl-based telecom operator Yarnet has completed a two-month network infrastructure upgrade using Eltex equipment. The project focused on enhancing access and aggregation layers to accommodate a growing subscriber base and increased data traffic.

The company deployed various Eltex MES series switches, including models MES2408, MES2424, and MES2424FB for access, along with PoE-enabled versions like MES2408CP and MES2428P. For aggregation, the operator utilized MES3400-48 switches, while the most heavily loaded segments were equipped with MES5310-48 units.

Yarnet engineers managed the installation and configuration process internally, performing a phased migration to ensure service stability. This initiative has resolved previous port capacity constraints and established a foundation for future expansion across Yaroslavl and the surrounding region.

To date, Yarnet has integrated over 890 Eltex switches into its network. Looking ahead, the operator is evaluating the MES5410-48 model for upcoming aggregation upgrades and is currently testing GPON technology to facilitate fiber-optic subscriber connections.
