Yandex has updated its security services, Yandex Smart Web Security and Yandex SmartCaptcha, to improve bot detection while maintaining user convenience. These tools protect websites and APIs from automated traffic, DDoS attacks, and vulnerability exploitation.
The development team, led by Ruslan Sabirgaliev, introduced two additional verification methods that operate invisibly to legitimate users. These checks are integrated into a system of interactive challenges designed to minimize friction.
Clients can now choose from three distinct protection modes. This update aims to shift the traditional trade-off between security and user experience by moving beyond a single bot score metric.
