Yandex and VK are planning to merge their corporate business units, Yandex B2B Tech and VK Tech. The deal, which has been under negotiation since July 2026, was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Digital Development Evgeny Filatov. The companies aim to finalize all formal procedures by March 31, 2027.

The structure of the new entity remains under discussion, with options including a joint venture or a full merger of product portfolios for government clients. One potential scenario involves an equal 50/50 split of ownership. Analysts expect the combined entity to capture approximately 30% of the Russian cloud and corporate IT market.

Yandex B2B Tech, established in late 2024, reported revenue of 32.2 ₽ billion in 2024, a 48.4% increase year-over-year. In the first half of 2026, its revenue grew by 32% to 28.9 ₽ billion. The unit includes Yandex Cloud, Yandex 360, and various AI development tools.

VK Tech reported revenue of 9 ₽ billion for the first half of 2026, marking a 35.3% year-over-year growth. Its client base is primarily composed of IT companies (23%), the oil and gas sector (22%), and the public sector (11%).
