The Binance scarcity index for XRP, developed by CryptoQuant, has reached its lowest level since January 2025. This metric tracks the availability of tokens on the exchange relative to historical norms, with a low reading indicating a surplus of XRP ready for immediate sale.
The index experienced significant volatility in 2026. It reached a range of 0.75 to 0.80 between late April and May, before dropping to approximately 0.34 in late June. Following a brief recovery to 0.77 in early July, the indicator has seen another sharp decline.
Despite the current short-term inflow, Binance's total XRP reserves have decreased by approximately 20% since November 2024. By mid-2026, the exchange's holdings fell to roughly 2.6 billion XRP, reflecting a structural reduction over the past 18 months.
XRP is currently trading between $1.10 and $1.13. This follows a decline from a 2025 peak of over $3, representing a loss of roughly two-thirds of the token's value.
