Xpeng has completed the construction of a specialized facility for assembling humanoid robots. The company presented the first locally assembled unit of its Iron robot during the opening ceremony. Serial production is expected to begin by the end of this year.

The assembly plant features over 80% automation of operations. While production capacity and the unit price of the Iron robot have not been disclosed, Xpeng plans to use the first batches of robots internally and in its branded showrooms.

The Iron robot was first introduced in November 2025. It is powered by three proprietary Turing AI processors, enabling local AI task processing without a remote server connection. The robot's body provides 76 degrees of freedom, with 21 degrees of freedom in each arm.

The company intends to start selling the Iron robot to external customers, including international markets, in 2027. Xpeng predicts that selling robots will be more profitable per unit than selling electric vehicles.
