Xpeng has reached a milestone of 20,000 cumulative deliveries for its flagship GX SUV. The company achieved this figure in just over three months following the model's official launch on May 20. The 20,000th vehicle was delivered to Bu Xinwen, the general manager of Bosch Huayu Steering Systems, which provides the steer-by-wire technology for the SUV.
Monthly delivery data shows that Xpeng handed over 284 units in May, 6,739 in June, and 7,140 in July. By the time the milestone was announced, the company had delivered at least 5,837 units in August. The GX accounted for 18.8 percent of the company's total deliveries in July, marking an increase from 16.8 percent in June.
The GX is a full-size, six-seat SUV offered in both battery electric and extended-range versions. The official price range for the model is between ¥279,800 and ¥359,800. Following its launch, the vehicle received 24,863 firm orders within the first 12 hours, with more than 80 percent of customers opting for the top-tier Ultra Flagship trim.
High demand for the Ultra Flagship trim previously resulted in delivery wait times of up to 35 weeks in June. In response, Xpeng expanded its production lines and added molds for key components. The vehicle features steer-by-wire, active rear-wheel steering, and, in higher-priced variants, three Turing AI chips providing 2,250 TOPS of computing power.
